LOFT Fitting Room Reviews - Part 2 of 2

Hi, Everyone!

I'm wrapping up the last part of my fitting room pictures and reviews from my recent visit to Loft. I tried on several pieces I want to share with you, including some pretty, new arrivals that would make great additions to your Summer wardrobe!

On to the fitting room reviews...

First up is this floral vine peplum cami. It immediately caught my eye with its vibrant, teal color, swirling floral-vine print, and peplum-hem detailing. The combination of the rich, lovely color and the pretty, Summery print had me daydreaming of a warm, tropical vacation, and I almost instinctively started planning multiple resort/poolside outfits with it in mind. I was pleasantly surprised to find it offered in petite sizing at my local store, as oftentimes the petite sizes are only available online. I grabbed size XSP to try, which was the smallest size available on the rack, and found it to run a tad wide. For a more relaxed, swingy look, this size would suffice, but for a closer fit, I would likely need size XXSP. While the fabric texture was a bit reminiscent of a linen blend, I checked the tag to see that it's 100% rayon and machine-washable, which I liked. The fabric is also thick enough to be worn alone without an additional cami or underpinning -- key in Summertime! One small drawback to this cami, however, is the lack of adjustable straps; the straps may be too short or too long on some ladies, making alterations a possibility. I was pleased to see the strap length wasn't an issue for me in this particular case.
If you are drawn to the floral vine print of this tank, you will be happy to find it repeated in the Vine Tie Swing Dress, which is an online-exclusive item, available in regular and petite sizing, made of 100% rayon, and machine-washable. An added bonus to note is the wider straps -- no strapless bra required (always a plus in my book!) Several sizes appear to already be sold out, but don't despair if your size is sold out; sizes often pop back, so keep checking!

Striped Swing Dress, Size SP - no longer online (similar here)
Next, I tried this navy-striped swing dress in size SP, which I happened to find tucked away on a rack in the back of the store. It was likely a store return, as it was the only one available. I quickly recalled to mind a very similar dress (albeit in a pretty, mustard-yellow shade) that Jess of What Jess Wore has recently reviewed here, and ultimately purchased, and was hopeful it would look equally as lovely on me. At first glance, this is a classic, navy-striped dress, but upon closer inspection, you will see vertical stripes down the lengths of both sides -- a fun detail that adds interest. The fit-and-flare silhouette of the dress is quite flattering, with it skimming the hips and flaring out ever so slightly at the hem. I also like that the dress itself is not itchy or overly restricting, as I sometimes find to be the case with similar dresses in this style. To the contrary, it is extremely soft and stretchy, thanks to the cotton fabric -- another plus. The only drawback is the dress length: it falls almost mid-thigh on me, which is much shorter than I prefer. I also don't want the added worry of any potential 'incidents' while bending over or sitting down, or feel the need to constantly adjust or tug at it. If the dress was available in regular sizes or even the taller sizes, I would definitely reconsider it.
Next, I tried on this colorful, floral, button-down blouse in size XS. The warm, citrus hues and large, floral print are quite pretty and Summery, albeit a bit busy. I think some ladies will find the print too overwhelming for their tastes. The fit runs slightly wide and boxy on my petite frame. Untucked, it also runs longer than I would like -- almost tunic-length.  Petite sizing with a shorter overall length would be ideal, but unfortunately is not offered; only regular sizes are offered. That said, it is still a lovely, airy blouse that drapes nicely without being too boxy, and is also machine-washable. I can see it pairing nicely with pencil skirts for an office look, or with skinny jeans or shorts for a more casual look.
If you adore the print, you can find it in a slightly darker "coral shadow" hue on the Fiesta Floral Stroll Skirt, which features an elasticized waist and -- always a favorite of mine -- pockets!

Last but not least, I tried on this dash stripe cut-out flare dress in size SP. I was immediately smitten with this one for several reasons: the soft and flowy, lightweight fabric (a rayon/spandex blend); the pretty, azure-blue color; the subtle dash pattern in a contrasting chevron placement at the bodice for added interest; and the fun cut-out at the lower back. I was unable to snap a picture of the back of the dress, but I am happy to report that the cut-out is not too large or distasteful in any way. Undergarments are kept fully concealed, which always passes my test! The fit of the dress itself is also relaxed and forgiving yet very flattering, and the length hits at about an inch or so above the knee on me (I'm 5'2".) It's exactly the kind of grab-n-go dress I reach for in Summer when I don't want to over-think my outfit, but still want to stay cool and feel pretty. Of all the pieces I tried on, this was the winner that came home with me, and I know it will see plenty of wear this season and beyond.
I hope you found these reviews helpful! Thank you for reading, and let me know if you snag any of these or other pieces during the current sale -- I'd love to hear from you!
Have a good evening!
