One of my favorite go-to looks for the office is a pretty blouse and a well-fitting pencil skirt. It's simple and sophisticated and, importantly, work-appropriate.

Today I'm featuring this office-chic, navy floral look.

This Ann Taylor leafy sleeveless blouse immediately caught me eye when I was perusing the online sale styles. The rich, navy color is classic and beautiful, and the leafy print in hushed shades of blush and cream is subtle, pretty, and perfect for the recent transition to Fall. The material drapes nicely and isn't prone to wrinkles, which is always a plus. I'm completely smitten with it!
(Sizes keep popping back in this blouse, so check for re-stocks!)

I kept the look monochromatic by adding a matching navy pencil skirt, which is a recent LOFT sale find as well.

Ladies, let me just tell you -- this skirt is amazing! While it looks like any other basic pencil skirt, the fit is what makes it stand out from the rest.  The fabric has a nice stretch to it, allowing the skirt to gently hug and flatter your curves as a great pencil skirt should. The strategically-placed seaming also helps to keep everything "sucked in" (Hallelujah! lol)

I love it to pieces and know that it will see a lot of use for many seasons to come!

Snag one while you can -- it's still 40% off with code "SHOPSMART"!

I always bring a cardigan or blazer to the office as well; it keeps the look professional, especially in a more conservative work environment, while also doing double-duty to help combat the frigid temps from the blasting air-conditioning.

You already how much I love blush-pink, so it's no surprise I chose this pink blazer to layer over the blouse! It's the prettiest shade of pink, and it plays off of the color of the leaves in the blouse so well, serving as a nice contrasting color to the dark navy.

This blazer is a rare gem I found at Forever 21 about a year ago, and I love the no-collar style; it gives it a more streamlined look. It's also structured with sewn-in shoulder padding (light padding, thankfully, so I don't look like a linebacker...ha!) and has a good, sturdy weight to it. It's also fully-lined and is very good quality.
I'm always thrilled to find these kinds of pieces at a fraction of the cost compared to other designers/brands!

I chose nude, patent accessories to keep the look clean and classic.

I scored this patent dome satchel from Marshalls several years ago, and it's still one of my all-time favorites. The brand is Arcadia, which is an Italian handbags and accessories company. All of their products are hand-crafted and 100% made in Italy -- always a great sign! The quality for the price simply can't be beat.

This dome satchel is from their Icons collection, which consists of a variety of classic, patent satchels in a host of beautiful colors. (With several currently on sale if you're interested!)

These patent pumps have also become a closet staple of mine. They're by Jessica Simpson, and I scored them on major sale from Nordstrom Rack a few years ago. They're the perfect, creamy-nude shade and are surprisingly comfortable. I can wear them for hours without my feet aching.

The good news is that they're still available online (YESSS!)
I found them here, here, and here!

I'm really considering ordering another pair as a back-up since these ones are on such heavy rotation, and I just know I'll have a minor panic attack if they completely sell out or are discontinued.

I know, #firstworldproblems...lol!

To finish the look, I added light, dainty jewelry like these pearl stud earrings and two gold baby bangle bracelets

Baby bracelets are where it's at for you ladies with super-small wrists like mine! My wrist diameter is about 2.5" at the narrowest part, so bracelets that measure 3 - 4" are ideal for me.

I wear mine almost daily, which were gifted to me by my in-laws, and I love their versatility and simplicity of design.

Overall, this look is a very typical office look for me, and I like that the pieces are modern yet feminine and pretty, but also work-appropriate. Getting the most use of them by taking them from the office to a night out is also key, and these pieces do the job perfectly. They can easily be swapped out with everything from dress pants, jeans, tanks, or tees for endless, lovely combos.

What are some of your favorite office go-to looks?

Thanks so much for reading and happy Friday!
XO

  1. I think you mean "diameter" rather than "circumference" for your wrist measurement. A circumference of 2.5 inches would be smaller than an infant wrist.
