Candy Stripes & Pleated Bell Sleeves

Have you ever slipped into an outfit and immediately felt bold, confident, and beautiful? This is one of those outfits for me. As soon as I put it on, I stood up straighter, put my game-face on, and felt empowered to take on anything the day threw at me. A little fierce maybe, but an outfit you absolutely love will do that for you.

To say that I'm slightly obsessed with this candy-striped blouse with micro-pleated bell sleeves is an understatement. I love it to pieces! It's surprising, actually, since I don't normally wear this style of blouse, and when I first saw it online I didn't think much of it. Then I tried it on (see my fitting room review here) and knew I had to have it. The creamy-white stripes mixed with the mauve, lilac, navy, and chartreuse stripes are so unique and eye-catching. And the sleeves...oh my gosh...the sleeves! So.stinking.cute.

This blouse is adorable on its own but I wanted to add another layer of texture for interest, so I styled it by layering this navy sweater peplum top over it and added a skinny metallic belt to cinch the waist. I love that it gives it a professional, classy, and modern look. And, thanks to the pleated sleeves, it adds a hint of drama.

This peplum top is another new favorite of mine; it's soft, stretchy, and looks great dressed up or down. I really wasn't looking to add another peplum top to my wardrobe, but I always have a hard time saying no to them, especially when they're as soft and pretty as this one. I also like the ribbed texture of it; it's a nice detail that separates it from a basic peplum tank. The sweater material itself is delicate, though, and I'll have to be extra careful when wearing my jewelry so I don't snag it. It's a darling, versatile top and I may nab the other chianti color now that it's currently on sale for 50% off.

To balance out the flare of the peplum top, I chose a slimming, navy pencil skirt. It really grounds the outfit, giving it a sleek, monochromatic look that's a nice contrast to the colorful and whimsical stripes of the blouse. I also kept the accessories neutral, choosing classic, grey suede pumps and a nude patent satchel to keep the focus on the blouse and peplum top.

My new double-breasted blush jacket is the cherry on top! I scored this gorgeous jacket on major sale when my size popped back in stock, and have been wearing it non-stop during chilly mornings/evenings with everything from jeans to dresses and skirts. It's extremely versatile, has a nice, sturdy weight to it, and the color is be-aut-iful! I love that the color plays off of the mauve stripes in the blouse, and the jacket itself adds another layer of class and elegance to the overall look.

Note: Sizes for this jacket keep popping back if you've been wanting to snag it, so keep checking online. It's currently on final sale, too, bringing it to ~$105 with code "SHOPNOW."  This one here is also a great alternative -- it's nearly identical, plus it's on sale for the same price using the same promo code.

I felt polished and pretty in this outfit all day and will definitely be repeating it in the near future. The upper half looks great paired with jeans, too!

Which outfits make you feel extra pretty?

As always, thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful evening!
XO
